Triple H Responds To Potential 'One More Match' For Goldberg

Triple H has said 'never say never' about a Goldberg return

At the 2024 Bad Blood premium live event, Hall Of Famer Goldberg sparked talk of ‘one more match’. Triple H came out to the ring to announce the birth of the Crown Jewel Championship, which will be crowned annually as both men’s and women’s world champions will go head to head at the Crown Jewel premium live event in Saudi Arabia.

Reigning World Heavyweight Champion Gunther came out to cut a promo, though it didn’t take him long to run down Goldberg, who was sitting ringside with his wife and son to watch the show. Gunther stated that Goldberg wasn’t actually his childhood hero, and that he was instead a one trick pony who he hoped was a better father than a pro wrestler. This prompted Goldberg to jump the barricade and attempt to get into the ring, only to be stopped by security. This allowed Gunther’s rival, Sami Zayn, to attack the champion. Afterwards, Goldberg had his hand raised by Triple H before saying into the camera “You’re Next”.

On the post-show press conference, Triple H was asked about the prospect of Goldberg having a final match in WWE, to which he remained open minded by honest about Goldberg’s age:

"Atlanta loves Bill Goldberg and that’s why he was here tonight with his wife and his son. Always going to get a huge reaction enjoying the show. Things get said. I can tell you when Bill came back, he was not too happy with Gunther. We’ll see. The further you go, time catches up with all of us, right? The further you go, those talks get further and further away from reality. I saw Bill earlier in the day and it was great. I saw Bill later in the day and there was a different look on his face with a spark in his eye. I would say never say never.”

With WWE heading to Saudi Arabia soon for Crown Jewel, talk has drummed up even more about a Goldberg return.
