Update On Why Dalton Castle Will Miss Remainder Of 2024

Dalton Castle dealing with a different injury

AEW CEO Tony Khan announced over the weekend that Dalton Castle will be out of action for the remainder of 2024, changing some plans for the upcoming ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.

Castle sustained an injury during the July 10 edition of AEW Collision, being knocked out following a Flying Knee from Roderick Strong. This caused a messy situation at the taping as it was not supposed to be the finish but AEW cleaned up the issue in editing for when Collision aired on July 13.

While he was knocked out, Dalton Castle did not sustain a concussion, according to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer. Castle is instead dealing with a different, undisclosed injury and he will need to undergo surgery.

The injury bug has bitten All Elite Wrestling, particularly on Collision, over the past couple of weeks. Skye Blue sustained a broken ankle and Killswitch suffered a partially torn biceps on the June 20 episode of Collision. Jay White, meanwhile, is dealing with his own injury that he suffered on the July 6 episode of Collision during his match with Hangman Adam Page.
