Why Bron Breakker Didn't Win The WWE Intercontinental Title At Money In The Bank

Why Bron Breakker didn’t win the Intercontinental Championship at WWE Money in the Bank 2024 revealed

Bron Breakker’s main roster WWE run has seen the former NXT Champion regain a lot of his dominant momentum from the black-and-gold brand, leaving many surprised when WWE decided to have Breakker fail in capturing the Intercontinental Championship at Money in the Bank on July 6.

Breakker had a ton of steam heading into the bout in Toronto, but ultimately couldn’t get the win against champion Sami Zayn. Breakker and Zayn are expected to clash for the title again at SummerSlam on August 3, and in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer speculates that WWE will pull the trigger on the second generation star at ‘the Biggest party of the Summer’, with Breakker the overwhelming favourite heading in.

Meltzer opines that it would be surprising for WWE to have Breakker lose to Zayn twice in a row, with Meltzer concluding that WWE only booked the first loss in order to have Breakker win at the bigger show.

Should Breakker defeat Zayn at SummerSlam then it will see the ‘Puppy Faced Gremlin’ lift his first title since making the jump from NXT to WWE Raw. In NXT, Breakker was a two-time NXT Champion, and one-time NXT Tag Team Champion with Baron Corbin.
