Will Ospreay To Defend British Heavyweight Title Against Doug Williams At RevPro 9-Year Anniversary Show

Ospreay returns

One week after he revealed he was medically cleared to return to the ring, Will Ospreay will defend the Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship at Revolution Pro Wrestling's 9-year Anniversary Show.

The show will take place on Saturday, August 21 in Manchester and RevPro announced Ospreay will defend the gold against Doug Williams, writing: "THIS SATURDAY IN MANCHESTER. A conflict of more than just styles. Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion WILL OSPREAY returns to the ring when he puts his gold on the line against DOUG WILLIAMS."

This will be the first time Ospreay has defended the championship in 2021. The Commonwealth Kingpin defeated Zack Sabre Jr. for the gold in February 2020, but he has only defended the title twice because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Ospreay has successfully retained against Kyle Fletcher and Ricky Knight Jr. so far.

Ospreay was recently on the sidelines with a neck injury but the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion returned to New Japan Pro-Wrestling over the weekend at Resurgence and announced he would be competing on Strong going forward.
