WWE 'In Talks' With Jesse Ventura

The Body has had a contentious relationship with the company over the decades.

Jesse Ventura is interested in working with WWE again now that they are in a 'new era'.

The WWE Hall of Famer appeared on political show The Vanguard this week, where he said:

"I will tell you this. Now that wrestling has chosen this new direction, shall we call it, Jesse Ventura is in talks with them. But, again, it required them going in this new direction. And I hope you get what I'm saying about the new direction. The direction the company is now going was good enough for Jesse Ventura and the WWE to begin talking again"

The 72-year-old had a contentious relationship with disgraced former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, who he used to commentate alongside in the 1980s.

He successfully sued WWE for unpaid royalties in the early 90s and was awarded over $800,000. This resulted in The Body's commentary being removed removed from most WWE Home Video releases.

Despite this, he did work with WWE again, including while sitting as Governor of Minnesota. Ventura acted as the special guest referee for the main event of SummerSlam 1999 and also announced games for the short-lived XFL in 2001.

His last WWE appearance was as guest host for the November 23, 2009, episode of Raw (during which he called a match with McMahon).
