AEW Banned Talents From Bringing A Hatchet To The Ring

No hatchets on AEW TV

All Elite Wrestling weren't down with one talent doing some chopping in the middle of an episode of TV.

Speaking at Starrcast, AEW attorney Christopher Peck revealed he had to put his foot down when a talent wanted to bring a hatchet to the ring.

"Truly, one of my favourite stories that I tell other lawyers. I got a call, I can't remember who, it was a panicked call. It was maybe 10 minutes before showtime. I wasn't in the building and they were panicking. The question was, 'Can we bring a hatchet to the ring?' I said, 'A hatchet? What are we doing with a hatchet?' They explained the stunt and I was like, 'No, we can't bring a hatchet to the ring,'" Peck said.

It is unknown who wanted to bring a hatchet to the ring or what it would have been used for.

While there was no hatchet on AEW TV, there have been plenty of unique weapons and stunts on the promotion's programming, including Eddie Kingston looking to set Chris Jericho and Bryan Danielson on fire after pouring gasoline over them at Double or Nothing 2022.
