AEW Discussing Absent Star's Return To TV

Absent star set for AEW return?

An absent star may soon be back on All Elite Wrestling programming.

According to Fightful Select, the return of Sammy Guevara has been discussed within AEW over the past few weeks. When exactly Guevara could resurface on AEW TV is unknown but a previous report indicated that "outside-the-box" plans were under consideration for Guevara. The former TNT Champion has often been linked to Chris Jericho within All Elite Wrestling whether in the Inner Circle, Jericho Appreciation Society, or as a babyface tag team.

Guevara was suspended by AEW earlier this year following the February 14 taping of Rampage. Guevara faced Jeff Hardy in a No DQ Match on the show and the closing moments of the match saw Guevara botch a Shooting Star Press and land on Hardy's face, breaking Jeff's nose in the process. The move put Hardy in concussion protocol and Guevara received a suspension for hitting Jeff with the GTH after being told to pin him.

There was much sympathy for Guevara following his suspension as many believed the former TNT Champion hitting his finisher was simply a miscommunication between the referee and Guevara. Some also questioned why AEW's medical team or the referee didn't simply wave off the match.

Guevara's suspension was lifted in May and he has just not been brought back to TV since then.
