AEW: Dynamite Results - October 6 2021

The two year anniversary of Dynamite

AEW was live from Philadelphia as they celebrated two years of Dynamite, and took the first steps towards Full Gear.

All eyes were on the seven-man casino ladder match, with the winner receiving a shot at the AEW World Title in the future. After the six announced participants were in ring, they were joined by the joker as Hangman Page returned to a massive ovation. This was a hard hitting high-spot affair, that saw tables, ladders, and chairs (oh my) all come in to play. The biggest spots of the night saw Andrade splat onto a ladder on the outside from the inside, Matt Hardy rolling back the years with a meaty leg drop on Cassidy through a table, and Hangman nailing the biggest Deadeye ever on PAC through a table. At the end of the day though, anything but a victory for Hangman would have caused a riot, and after seeing off Moxley, Page retrieved the poker chip, and will get a shot at the AEW World Title.

The Super Elite teamed together for only the second time in history to take on Bryan Danielson, Christian Cage, and Jurassic Express. The Elite were at their meddling worst here, isolating Jungle Boy, and using stooges Michael Nakazawa and Brandon Cutler to help maintain their advantage, made even stronger when Cage was taken out with an Indietaker on the ramp. Danielson and Omega eventually squared off for round two, as Danielson got the upper hand with Cattle Mutilation. Eventually, with the ref’s back turned, Adam Cole got a low blow on Luchasaurus, and The Elite dished out a Super-kick Party to Adam Cole, and a four-way V Trigger saw off Jungle Boy.

Hikaru Shida was in search of her fiftieth AEW win as she took on Serena Deeb. Deeb was in no mood to be a statistic though, and unleashed her aggressive side. After a good back-and-forth, Deeb got the win with the Serenity Lock, and smashed a trophy over Shida’s head to re-establish Deeb as one of the toughest in AEW’s women’s division.

Speaking of the women’s division, AEW unveiled the TBS Championship, which will come in to play when Dynamite moves to TBS in 2022.

New TNT Champion Sammy Guevara put the title on the line against a debuting Bobby Fish. Fish was looking to impress, with JR comparing the indie veteran to Harley Race, but Guevara wasn’t going down without a fight, and after absorbing punishment from Fish, put him away with the GTH for the win. Post-match, American Top Team came to the ring, and beat down Sammy and Fuego del Sol. Chris Jericho and Jake Hager ran down and cleared the ring, as Dan Lambert proposed Men of the Year and Junior Dos Santos against The Inner Circle on an upcoming Dynamite from Miami.

Elsewhere: Darby Allin defeated Nick Comoroto, and later got jumped by hooded figures. Aleister Black took out Dante Martin. Brian Cage and Ricky Starks came to blows. CM Punk challenged Daniel Garcia. World’s Most Dangerous Man Arn Anderson wanted to burn Hollywood Cody Rhodes’ suit.
