AEW Introduces Trios Titles, First Champions To Be Crowned At All Out

Who will be the first champions?

AEW officially announced the arrival of Trios titles during Wednesday night's Fight For the Fallen broadcast of Dynamite in Worcester, MA, with the physical belts being shown on the commentary desk.

A tournament will be held to crown the first ever AEW Trios champions, with the tournament final taking place at All Out on Sunday, September 4 in Chicago.

In May, Tony Khan revealed that the belts had been commissioned, saying, "I saw Dave [Meltzer] reported it and nobody’s asked me on the record yet, but it is truthful that I have made the belts. I made them a long time ago, to be honest with you. They’ve never been seen, and I did have them made. I do have more championship belts in my possession that have never been unveiled than anybody might suspect."

As part of the media call for AEW Revolution in March, Khan stated that he would be interested in bringing the belts to TV upon the return of Kenny Omega, who has been out of action since November.
