AEW’s Darby Allin Not Anticipating A Long Career
The former TNT Champion is here for a good time not a long time
Darby Allin is one of AEW’s hottest stars, and has been tipped by many as one of the faces to lead the current generation into the next era of wrestling. But according to Darby Allin himself, you shouldn’t hold your breath.
While speaking on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Allin outlined his approach to wrestling, and why it won’t necessarily mean a long career:
“I'm all in or nothing, for the most part, and I always made a commitment to myself that I'd rather have a real short career and then just push it hard every day, then just try to focus on outside projects when the time's up,” said Allin. “As of right now, I feel like I'm just gonna keep going and going and going until my wheels fall off but I feel wonderful right now. I've been doing DDP Yoga with Dallas over in his house and I'm insane about physical therapy and you know, I don't take any drugs. I don't take aspirin or anything like that. I just take a bunch of ice baths and you know, yoga and just… yeah, man.”
Allin is known for taking a heap of punishment in his matches, with his fearless displays garnering comparisons to the likes of Mick Foley and Jeff Hardy. Wrestling in such a manner, it’s no surprise that Allin doesn’t envisage a decades long wrestling career.
