AEW's Tony Khan: I Would Have Been Interested In Signing Kevin Owens

Owens recently signed a new deal with WWE

Tony Khan has admitted he would have been interested in signing Kevin Owens to All Elite Wrestling had he decided to leave WWE.

Owens confirmed last week that he has signed a new, multi-year deal with WWE, amid speculation that his previous contract was due to expire at the end of January 2022.

The AEW President has confirmed he would have liked to have discussed a move to his promotion with Owens had he made the choice to enter free agency.

"I would have been interested in that. He's a great wrestler," Khan told CBS Sports. "I think he ended up signing for what I believe is probably a lot of money. I think that's great, and good for him.

"We have a lot of people spotlighted here and he's great. Any company he goes to he'll be a great wrestler for them."

The former Universal Champion had previously sent wrestling fans wild with speculation after Owens changed part of his Twitter bio to the coordinates for Mount Rushmore earlier this year. Owens was in a stable called 'Mount Rushmore' with Adam Cole and The Young Bucks many years ago, prompting rumours he was considering joining AEW.
