Bandido Off ROH Final Battle 2021 After Positive COVID Test

The ROH World Champion will not be appearing

Ring of Honor Final Battle is taking place this Saturday, but the ROH World Title main event is up in the air, as ROH World Champion Bandido has revealed a positive COVID test and will not be cleared to compete.

ROH made the announcement via Twitter, saying:

“#FinalBattle update. Get well soon @bandidowrestler! Match updates will be released as soon as possible.”

ROH also posted a full press release, stating:

“Unfortunately, ROH World Champion Bandido returned a positive result on his most recent Covid Testing and will not be present at Final Battle this Saturday, December 11th in Baltimore.

“Thank you for continuously supporting Ring of Honor through it all and we appreciate your understanding that safety and health of our talents, staff, and fans are our top priorities.

“Stay tuned for match updates regarding Final Battle 2021 as we commemorate the history-making era that is coming to an end.”

Bandido was set to face Jonathan Gresham in Final Battle’s main event, but obviously this is now not the case.

It remains to be seen what ROH will do, but it seems almost unthinkable that they’d go into their last PPV before their hiatus - possibly their last show ever - without the ROH World Title on the line.
