Big Contract Update Amidst Sheamus' Expiring WWE Deal

Reports have emerged about Sheamus' future with WWE

It was noted recently that WWE were set to approach many current talents with expiring deals to negotiate new contracts. Earlier this week, it was reported that former multi-time world champion Asuka had agreed to a long-term deal with the company, and it looks as though fellow former world champion Sheamus may be following up by going down the same route after it was learned last year that his contract was coming to an end in 2024.

PWInsider have been told that a new deal for Sheamus was “close to being done or was just completed”. The belief internally in WWE is that Sheamus will be with the promotion for around 3-5 years at the very least. He signed with WWE all the way back in 2007, so this deal is likely to take him over the two decade mark with the company, making him one of the longest-tenured veterans in WWE.

During that time, Sheamus has become one of the most decorated wrestlers in the whole company, winning four WWE World Championships, three United States Championships, five Tag Team Titles, along with a Royal Rumble, Money In The Bank, and King Of The Ring, though he has still yet to get his hands on the Intercontinental Championship. He may have another half decade to get this done, based on this report.
