Erik Of The Viking Raiders Sidelined With Foot Injury

Said to be out of action indefinitely

WWE announcer Michael Cole noted during Friday night's SmackDown broadcast that Erik of The Viking Raiders is sidelined with a foot injury, which was incurred during the recent "Viking Rules" match against The New Day.

Cole noted that Erik would be sidelined "for an indefinite period of time."

Erik and partner Ivar defeated New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods in the "Viking Rules" match on the September 2 broadcast of SmackDown in Detroit, which was taped seven nights earlier. The Viking Raiders won after Ivar put Woods through a stack of tables.

After several months off of main roster television, the Viking Raiders were reintroduced as heels on WWE SmackDown in June, and quickly entered into a feud with The New Day. They also won matches on SmackDown against Jinder Mahal and Shanky, as well as an enhancement talent duo.

Ivar has not wrestled since Erik's injury. The New Day have moved on to house show matches with Tag Team champions The Usos, as well as teaming with Drew McIntyre to face The Brawling Brutes.
