KUSHIDA Pulled From NJPW Event With Suspected Skin Disease

KUSHIDA on the shelf

NJPW star KUSHIDA is currently out of action.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced today that KUSHIDA has been pulled from their house show on September 21 in Kumamoto. The promotion noted that KUSHIDA was dealing with a fever over the weekend and after testing negative for COVID-19, he was diagnosed with a suspected skin disease by doctors.

The Time Splitter was scheduled to team with Hiroshi Tanahashi, Toru Yano, Tama Tonga, and Jado to take on Bullet Club's Jay White, The Good Brothers, Taiji Ishimori, and Gedo. The match has been changed to an eight-man tag as a result of KUSHIDA's issue with Gedo being removed on the heel side.

How long KUSHIDA will be out of action is currently unknown.

The former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion returned to NJPW in June of 2022 after four years with WWE. He has also performed in IMPACT Wrestling in the past few months, teaming with Time Splitters tag team partner Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin as Time Machine.
