Mercedes Moné Confirms Chance Meeting With Shane McMahon

Mercedes Moné details bumping into Shane McMahon

Mercedes Moné has confirmed in her newsletter that she had a chance encounter with Shane McMahon at New York City's Laguardia Airport while waiting in line for a bagel.

Moné wrote:

"After it all, by only the fates aligned – I walked into the airport, was in line by the bagel shop when I suddenly looked up, and there he was, just as surprised as I was. My first day being a double title holder and the first wrestler and former WWE Superstar I see is McMahon....come on, if that isn't the universe working in divine timing, I don't know what else it could be.

"I've always loved Shane. When we locked eyes, we both kind of looked at each other like IS THAT YOU? Our faces lit up as we got to talking a bit and before he boarded his flight, he gave me his number... the rest as they say a history or maybe a mystery!"

It emerged following Forbidden Door that Moné and McMahon bumped into each other while waiting for their flights on Monday, July 1. During their time together they reportedly discussed All Elite Wrestling

Shane McMahon is no longer signed with WWE and he has reportedly spoken to people working for AEW about a possible appearance in the promotion. AEW CEO Tony Khan recently stated that Shane is "always welcome" in All Elite Wrestling.

Mercedes Moné faced Stephanie Vaquer at Forbidden Door and went into the match with the intention of 'making' the CMLL star. Moné won their match, retaining the AEW TBS Championship and winning the NJPW STRONG Women's Title.
