Solo Sikoa Pins Cody Rhodes At WWE Money In The Bank 2024

Solo Sikoa pins Cody Rhodes!

Cody Rhodes was pinned for the first time since before WrestleMania 40 at Money in the Bank, this time by Solo Sikoa.

Cody Rhodes teamed with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens against The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in the main event of Money in the Bank from Toronto's Scotiabank Arena. The babyface trio had the match won after they hit Solo Sikoa with a Cross Rhodes, Frog Splash, and RKO but the referee was down from an earlier Samoan Spike from Sikoa and he refused to move on the outside.

Rhodes later hit Sikoa with two Cross Rhodes but he couldn't hit a third one as Jacob Fatu came out of nowhere and hit a Phoenix Splash-esque move to Cody. Jacob Fatu then held Cody as Solo hit a Samoan Spike and the referee recovered and counted the 1-2-3 as Solo pinned Cody Rhodes.

This looks set to set up the main event of SummerSlam, with reports having noted that WWE planned for the match to be Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa for the Undisputed WWE Championship. SummerSlam will be held at Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3.

The match will take place following months of Solo Sikoa establishing himself as the new Tribal Chief in a new Bloodline with Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa.
