Planned Main Event Of WWE SummerSlam 2024 Revealed

Main event of WWE SummerSlam revealed

Not only will Cody Rhodes be defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam, but the match is scheduled to main event the pay-per-view, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio

After discussing SmackDown, Meltzer confirmed that Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa will close out SummerSlam. The pay-per-view is scheduled to emanate from Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, August 3.

Solo Sikoa has been on the receiving end of a strong push since WrestleMania 40, with The Rock and Roman Reigns having both gone on hiatus from WWE. The Bloodline has since changed dramatically, with Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu all being added to the group while Jimmy Uso has been kicked out. Sikoa even told Paul Heyman on the June 21 episode of SmackDown that Roman Reigns won't be coming back to WWE.

Sikoa kicked off a programme with Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle as The Bloodline attacked the Undisputed WWE Champion following his win over AJ Styles. That feud has since continued on SmackDown.

Another match planned for SummerSlam is CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre, but Punk is reportedly "touch-and-go" to be ready in time for the event.
