Motor City Machine Guns Expected To Sign With WWE

WWE expected to sign Motor City Machine Guns

When the legendary Motor City Machine Guns departed TNA Wrestling earlier this year, most assumed it would be a two horse race to sign them, with both All Elite Wrestling and WWE reportedly interested in the duo of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin.

Although it was earlier speculated that AEW had won the race to sign the team, subsequent reports claimed that WWE had the edge. A new report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that it seems likely that WWE have made the better offer to the team, with it expected that the former TNA World Champions will be heading there at some point in the near future.

Meltzer said that recent indications suggest WWE have so far made the greatest overtures in landing the Guns, with a singles match between the two for Prestige Wrestling in Portland, Oregon, seen as their goodbye to the indies.

Nothing is confirmed as of writing, with it noted that whilst WWE have so far made the ‘better’ offer, ultimately Sabin and Shelley will sign with whomever makes the ‘best’ offer, suggesting that this could potentially drag on a little while longer. WWE Tag Team Champion Tommaso Ciampa seemingly thinks the duo are WWE-bound, having referenced the duo on social media.
