New Champion Crowned On AEW: Dynamite

Did SCU regain the Tag Team Championships...

On last night's episode of Dynamite, All Elite Wrestling held two championship matches. SCU received their rematch against Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page for the AEW World Tag Team Championships, having lost the titles on the January 22 episode of Dynamite. Nyla Rose and Riho also faced off again for the AEW Women's World Championship.

Last night's show opened up with SCU's rematch. All four competitors fought back and forth, but after 15 minutes, The Elite members gained the upper hand after Scorpio Sky was put out of commission by a Tope Suicida from Hangman. This left Frankie Kazarian at the mercy of the champions, who connected with a Buckshot Lariat, V-Trigger combo to send The Future sprawling to the mat. The Cleaner then covered Kazarian for the pinfall victory.

With that, Omega and Hangman retained their championships. The Cowboy then celebrated by drinking some hard-earned beers with the audience.

Later in the broadcast, Nyla Rose and Riho went one on one for a second time, in a rematch from the first-ever episode of Dynamite. The American Kaiju had been unable to put her loss to Riho behind her and has left a path of destruction in her wake.

It looked like Rose was set to suffer further disappointment, however, as after brawling for 15 minutes, the Champion hit her with a trifecta of double knee strikes. Before the referee's hand could slap the map for the three count, though, The Native Beast got her feet to the bottom rope.

Eager to put the challenger away, Riho went for a fourth Double Knee Strike, but Rose countered into a Spear. With the champion staggered, Nyla hoisted her up and delivered a hellacious Beast Bomb. She then covered her opponent for the 1-2-3.

With the win, Nyla Rose was crowned the new AEW Women's World Champion and became the first-ever transgender wrestler to win a major professional wrestling championship.
