New Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Unveiled On SmackDown

Roman Reigns' new Undisputed Title design has been revealed

This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown hosted the celebration for Roman Reigns’ record-breaking 1000-day reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. To commemorate this big moment, Triple H came out to unveil a new design for the Roman Reigns’ championship, ditching the current two belt prize and replacing it with one singular title now that the World Heavyweight Championship has been introduced as the Raw belt.

Eagle-eyed viewers will have noticed that the pedestal used for this unveiling was the same exact one utiilised by The Rock all the way back in 2013 when he changed the design of the spinner WWE Title. Whether this is anything more than just a coincidence or a nod is unclear.

The belt itself is yet another variation of WWE’s usual world title design, which has been used in both the men’s and women’s divisions for several years. The strap is black, and the centre plate is golden (and shinier than the previous two world title designs). In truth, it does appear more yellow than gold, and it will be interesting to see if fans grow on it.
