NWA Announces Return Of Television Title For Next PPV

A classic belt is back...

  1. NWA endeavored to bring back the old school flavor of territorial wrestling, and as we roll over into a new decade, they look to continue doing just that.

A classic championship belt makes its return, as it was announced Saturday that the NWA Television championship will be reactivated in the new year.

The announcement was made by Stu Bennett (Wade Barrett). The belt officially returns at the NWA’s next pay-per-view, which takes place on Friday, January 24.

The pay-per-view has not been named, but it’s scheduled for the same GPB Studios in Atlanta where Into the Fire and the Powerrr tapings take place. It will be broadcast on FITE.

The belt is a restored version of a classic Reggie Parks design used in the 1980s.

Prior to the reactivating of the TV Title, the Billy Corgan-run NWA recognized four belts. Headed into Saturday’s Into the Fire pay-per-view, the champions were Nick Aldis (World Heavyweight), The Rock ‘n Roll Express (World Tag Team), Allysin Kay (Women’s), and Colt Cabana (National).
