Report: Backstage News On Bandido's AEW Debut

Bandido fought Chris Jericho on the September 28 episode of AEW Dynamite

Former ROH World Champion Bandido made his impressive AEW debut on the September 28 edition of AEW Dynamite, putting in a spirited display against current ROH Champion Chris Jericho.

Bandido’s performance in the match earned rave reviews and has seen both AEW and WWE reportedly make plays for his services. Now a report from Fightful Select has shed more light on Bandido’s appearance, with the former PWG World Champion booked rather last minute due to Hurricane Ian impacting AEW’s roster.

As a result, Bandido travelled into Philadelphia from one location, with his gear elsewhere. Unfortunately, Bandido’s gear - mask aside - didn’t make it in time, and Bandido had to cobble together a new outfit for the match, borrowing some aspects and even using masking tape on his arms in lieu of armbands.

This coupled with Bandido’s performance is said to have impressed AEW management, with a source telling Fightful that some in AEW were impressed with Bandido’s demeanour considering the tough spot he was put in by forces beyond his control.
