Report: Backstage Reaction To Konosuke Takeshita's AEW Signing Revealed

Konosuke Takeshita joined AEW on Friday

Following his return to All Elite Wrestling on the November 18 edition of Rampage, AEW President Tony Khan announced that Konosuke Takeshita was officially All Elite, having put pen to paper on a deal with the promotion.

Takeshita was victorious in his AEW return match as he and Jun Akiyama defeated Eddie Kingston and Ortiz in tag team action. The former KO-D Openweight Champion then appeared on the Full Gear Zero Hour to speak with Renee Paquette about his excitement in becoming All Elite.

Fans were happy to see that AEW had tied down Takeshita, who has become a rising star in the United States in 2022, and that excitement extended to the AEW locker room. According to Fightful Select, the immediate reaction to Takeshita signing was "overwhelmingly positive."

Following a short AEW excursion in the spring of 2021, Takeshita had a longer AEW run this year, competing in the promotion from April until August. He had memorable matches against the likes of Hangman Page, Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, and Claudio Castagnoli. Takeshita also impressed on the indies, performing for the likes of DEFY, PWG, and Terminus in the United States and PROGRESS Wrestling in the United Kingdom.
