Report: Brody King Provides Update On AEW Future Amidst House Of Black Collapse

What’s next for House of Black’s Brody King in AEW?

It’s been a bad month for The House of Black. After losing at AEW All Out, Malakai Black bowed to the crowd and subsequently went on hiatus, whilst after the recent Rampage Grand Slam loss to Sting and Darby Allin, Buddy Matthews has also taken time off.

Both Black and Matthews have been linked with a return to WWE, and with the collapse of the stable, all eyes turned to Brody King. However, the former ROH World Tag Team Champion took to Twitter and declared he was staying put, posting a gif of Leonardo DiCaprio from The Wolf of Wall Street saying “I’M NOT F****** LEAVING”.

With Black and Matthews both going on hiatus to ‘figure things out’, it’s interesting with hindsight to compare their AEW run in 2022 with King’s, with King having several high-profile singles bouts, including a shot at AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley in July.

King joined AEW in January 2022 as the first member inducted into Malakai Black's House of Black. The two had previously teamed on the independent scene, and won the PWG Tag Team Championships as the Kings of the Black Throne at Threemendous VI in September 2021.
