Report: Janel Grant Rejected Being Interviewed For 'Mr. McMahon' Netflix Docuseries

Janel Grant turned down appearing in 'Mr. McMahon' docuseries on Netflix

The 'Mr. McMahon' Netflix docuseries is set to be released on September 25 and will cover the allegations against Vince McMahon that ultimately led to his resignation as TKO Executive Chairman, among a range of other topics across the six-episode series covering the former WWE CEO's rise and fall.

McMahon's resignation came about after Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis within which she accused him of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical and emotional abuse.

It emerged this week that Janel Grant was contacted about being interviewed for the Netflix series, with a spokesperson for Grant saying: "Netflix's documentary group made initial outreach to Janel's representation for an interview for this project. Despite this, no such interview came to fruition."

The interview not coming to fruition appears to have been due to Grant herself as POST Wrestling noted a "source with knowledge of the production" confirmed Grant was approached multiple times to be a part of the 'Mr. McMahon' series but she "ultimately decided not to." If Grant's decision was made following legal advice is unknown.

The lawsuit filed by Janel Grant is currently on pause until December 11 while attorneys for the Southern District of New York investigate allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault against McMahon dating back to 1986.
