Report: Nikki A.S.H Booed At WWE House Show

Troubling signs for A.S.H

While Nikki A.S.H's Money In The Bank cash-in got a big reaction on Monday Night Raw, the character doesn't appear to be clicking with WWE's house show audience.

WWE held their first two untelevised live events since March 7, 2020, over the weekend as the company visited Pittsburgh's PPG Arena on July 24 before heading to Louisville's KFC Yum! Center on July 25. Nikki A.S.H was in action on both nights and successfully defended her Raw Women's Championship in a Triple Threat match against Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair.

According to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, A.S.H was booed in Pittsburgh and the crowd in Louisville saw her "as an intruder" in the Raw Women's Title match.

"Both nights, worse in Pittsburgh than Louisville but it was there both nights is that Nikki Cross' superhero gimmick that everybody loves and everything, it's not working for the house show crowd. They don't take her seriously. She was actually booed in Pittsburgh. Not heavily booed but booed," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

"Louisville I didn't hear her being booed but I heard she came out and got a nice reaction and then once the match started the people didn't want to see her. They just see, and no surprise, they see Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair as big big stars and Nikki as an intruder in the match. Also since she's the champion she ends up winning, she has to win. That was the one notable thing from everyone I heard from both nights was the Nikki Cross thing was not working. You wouldn't know that from TV."

While WWE's house show audience may not be the biggest fans of the Almost Superhero gimmick, Vince McMahon reportedly "loves" the character and Nikki's Money In The Bank win was her reward for thinking outside the box.
