Report: No Plans For Vince McMahon's WWE Return

Vince McMahon is reportedly "done, done"

Vince McMahon won't be coming back to WWE.

WWE announced in their Q3 2022 earnings report that The Special Committee of the WWE Board investigation into misconduct allegations against McMahon has finished and the committee has disbanded. The investigation cost $19.4 million.

Within the earnings report, WWE stated that "Mr. McMahon can effectively exercise control over our affairs", which fuelled speculation about a possible return.

That won't be the case, though, and a WWE spokesperson told Fightful Select that Vince McMahon is "done, done" and he won't be returning as Chairman and CEO. Another WWE higher-up also revealed morale since McMahon retired has been the highest it has been in over a decade.

A longtime WWE employee feared McMahon might make a quick return after his retirement but those fears have since dissipated and WWE higher-ups believe the 77-year-old coming back "would be a major step back for the company."

McMahon had been at the helm of WWE since 1982 but he was forced to retire on July 22 amidst a sexual misconduct and hush money scandal. McMahon allegedly paid $14.6 million from 2006 to "suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity", including $7.5 million to a former female WWE talent. He also paid a further $5 million to the Donald Trump Foundation.

McMahon remains WWE's majority shareholder.
