Report: Warner Bros. Discovery Expected To Pick Up AEW Option Year

AEW look to be sticking with WBD

All Elite Wrestling look set to remain on Warner Bros. Discovery networks for at least another year.

Dave Meltzer has reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Warner Bros. Discovery are expected to pick up the option year they have within their media rights deal with AEW. The option year will lead to a "significant price increase"  and would extend AEW's US TV deal until the end of September 2024.

AEW moving away from Warner Bros. Discovery was considered unlikely, especially as a new Saturday night show, Collision, is set to debut on TNT this Saturday. Tony Khan noted the show was created after WBD President David Zaslav asked if the promotion could produce a two-hour show that would air on Saturday nights.

Tony Khan did not directly confirm in an interview with Brandon Thurston and John Pollock for POST Wrestling that WBD had exercised the option year but he stated that he expects AEW programming to be on WBD channels in 2024.

"I would expect that. And I can't say much because of our contract with Warner Bros. Discovery but I definitely think we're planning into 2024 for that and hopefully for a very long, long time," Khan said.

Outside of Collision, AEW Dynamite airs live on Wednesday nights on TBS, while Rampage airs on Friday nights on TNT.
