Report: WWE Asking Talent To Cease Working With Third Party Platforms

Such as Twitch and Cameo...

A report from Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc claims that Vince McMahon held a call with WWE personnel last Sunday, informing them that they can no longer, “engage with outside third parties,” which includes platforms such as Twitch and Cameo.

Giri’s report states, “During the call, it was said that WWE owns the real names of talent, not just their character names.“

McMahon reportedly followed up the meeting by sending a letter to personnel on Thursday. In the letter, McMahon wrote that it was a necessity for talent to, “promote and protect the brand in every conceivable way,” and informed the talent that they have 30 days to cease activity with such third-party platforms.

“Some of you are engaged with outside third parties using your name and likeness in ways that are detrimental to our company," McMahon wrote. "It is imperative that these activities be terminated within the next 30 days (by Friday, October 2). Continued violations will result in fines, suspension, or termination at WWE's discretion."

McMahon also wrote that such actions are necessary as WWE enters its next phase of growth.
