Report: WWE Renames NXT Talent, Referees

Now known as Daphne Lashaunn and more new names

Several WWE NXT names have been changed.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that WWE have signed 24-year-old Kellie Morga. She will be known as Mila Malani going forward.

An independent wrestler for the likes of I Believe In Wrestling, Morga was in attendance at WWE's Las Vegas tryouts during SummerSlam week in August of this year and seemingly impressed the officials at the venue enough to be signed.

Several NXT 2.0 referees have also received new names. Aja Smith will be known as Daphne Lashaunn going forward, while DA Brewer will be called Dallas Irvin. Tom Castor is set to be billed as Derek Sanders.

This isn't the only name change, though. As previously noted, WWE have opted to scrap the Mei Ying character and the woman who portrayed her, Karen Q, will be known as Wendy Choo going forward. Triple H and Shawn Michaels initially had high hopes for Ying with Tian Sha but she had only been sporadically used after the faction was quietly disbanded.
