Riho Returns During AEW Dark: Elevation Tapings

The former AEW Women's World Champion is back

Riho returned during last night's AEW Dark: Elevation tapings from Chicago's NOW Arena.

The former AEW Women's World Champion defeated Skye Blue, according to Wrestling Inc. The match was said to be the best bout of the entire taping.

Riho had been on the shelf since the July 7 Dark: Elevation tapings reportedly because of a bad reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine. It was noted in mid-August that she was feeling better and the 24-year-old made her return last night.

Other matches taped for Dark: Elevation were Dante Martin vs. JD Drake, and Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston and Darby Allin vs. Chaos Project and Rickey Shane Page.

Max Caster also returned during the September 1 Dark tapings, helping tag team partner Anthony Bowens defeat Griff Garrison of The Varsity Blonds.

Caster had been away from AEW since a rap on August 3 that referenced Simone Biles' mental health issues, COVID-19 testing and the 2006 Duke lacrosse case. The rap was later edited out of Dark after it initially aired and AEW President Tony Khan announced following the incident that he would be editing Dark and Dark: Elevation going forward.
