Samoa Joe Reveals He Was Not Asked To Be Involved In IMPACT's 20-Year Anniversary Celebrations

IMPACT Wrestling celebrated their 20-year anniversary at Sunday's Slammiversary pay-per-view, with the event being held on the same date as TNA Wrestling's first-ever show. 

During a night that showcased the promotion's current talent, several stars of the past were involved at Slammiversary in different capacities, with America's Most Wanted and Shark Boy appearing inside the squared circle while Sting, Kurt Angle, and AJ Styles sent in video messages that aired during the broadcast. 

Some big names from IMPACT's history were missing from the show, though, including TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett who recently rejoined WWE in an executive role, and Samoa Joe who is currently signed to AEW/ROH. 

Taking to Twitter, Joe revealed he was not involved at Slammiversary because he was not asked to be, nor would he have been available had the promotion reached out.

"Dearest cackling hens. I wasn't asked, or available, and it should not mar a great milestone set by Impact. Happy Anniversary, and my best going forward to all involved," Joe tweeted.

The 43-year-old is currently off AEW TV while he works on the Peacock series 'Twisted Metal.' Joe plays Sweet Tooth in the upcoming show.

The Samoan Submission Machine was one of IMPACT's biggest stars during his 10-year stint with the promotion from 2005 until 2015. Joe famously began his run with a 19-month undefeated streak and he left IMPACT as a one-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, five-time X-Division Champion, two-time TNA World Tag Team Champion, and one-time TNA Television Champion. 

He was also the third TNA Grand Slam Champion in company history, only behind AJ Styles and Abyss.
