Shinsuke Nakamura Not Approached About Attending NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17

Shinsuke Nakamura won't be at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom?

Although Shinsuke Nakamura is in Japan, The King of Strong Style seemingly won't be in attendance for Wrestle Kingdom 17.

Following his win over The Great Muta, Nakamura noted during the post-match press conference that he is not planning to attend New Japan Pro-Wrestling's biggest show of the year.

"No, I don't plan to [attend NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17]. I haven't been approached about it, unfortunately (laughs)," Nakamura said.

Nakamura returned to Japan to face The Great Muta at NOAH The New Year in the Nippon Budokan on January 1. Nakamura won the match after taking the mist out of Great Muta's mouth and spraying him with it before he followed up with the Kinshasa.

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 will emanate from the Tokyo Dome on January 4. The show is set to be headlined by Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship and Jay White vs. Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title.

Nakamura wrestled for NJPW between 2002 and 2016 but he hasn't appeared in the promotion since signing with WWE.
