Strong UK Launch Sales For WWE 2K22

A strong week of sales for WWE 2K22

After waiting over two years, fans finally got their hands on a mainline WWE video game on March 11 as WWE 2K22 was released on PC, as well as current and past generation consoles.

Along with positive reviews for the new title, 2K22 was popular in the United Kingdom and physical and digital launch sales were more than double that of 2019's WWE 2K20, according to gamesindustry.biz

For physical sales, 2K22 was actually down 32 percent compared to 2K20, with 43 percent of gamers buying the title on PlayStation 5 and 11 percent on Xbox Series X/S. Last generation console players also bought the title, though, with 29 percent of physical sales being for PlayStation 4 and another 17 percent for Xbox One.

2K22's digital sales dwarfed that of 2K20, however, coming in at 390 percent higher.

As 72 percent of WWE 2K22's total launch sales were digital, this means the title sold more than double what the 2019 entry achieved.
