Update On Joe Hendry's WWE Future Following NXT No Mercy

What's next for the Local Hero?

Joe Hendry was unsuccessful in his attempt to win the NXT Championship at No Mercy, with Ethan Page retaining his title following a low blow and Razor's Edge.

However, this may not be the last we see of the TNA star in NXT.

Following his loss, Hendry was met backstage by Shawn Michaels. During the encounter (which WWE posted on X), Michaels said: "Joe, can't thank you enough, man. Hell of a job out there. Look, any time you want another chance, just give me a call".

In response, Hendry said: "Thank you, Shawn. Tonight, it wasn't my night. But remember what I said to you the first night I came in, Shawn. Anywhere, any time, any show".

Michaels then said he was a 'believer' as Hendry walked away. It is unknown when Hendry will next appear on NXT programming.

TNA's Josh Alexander, meanwhile, mocked the Scotsman for his loss. Taking to X, The Walking Weapon said: "Congrats. You failed yourself & the entire @ThisIsTNA locker room you were representing. See ya back on Thursdays".

A recent report noted that Hendry's TNA contract runs through the end of 2025.
