Wardlow Vs. Brian Cage Added To 10/5 AEW Dynamite
For the AEW TNT title
The AEW TNT title will be defended on this Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, as Wardlow takes on a fellow strongman in former FTW champion Brian Cage.
Wardlow issued an open challenge on Twitter on Wednesday, writing, "I dare someone to challenge me for the TNT title this Wednesday at the anniversary show. Someone remotely close to my level. Just show up, I’ll be waiting @TonyKhan @AEW #AEWDynamite #IDareYou"
Tony Khan subsequently tweeted about the Wardlow/Cage match, indicating Cage's acceptance of the open challenge.
The match will be Cage's first on AEW television in one year. He last wrestled on the October 8, 2021 Rampage, losing in a street fight to Ricky Starks. Since then, Cage has appeared for Khan's rebooted Ring of Honor.
