Marty Scurll To Challenge For Nick Aldis' NWA World Heavyweight Title

At Ring of Honor's Bound by Honor event on Saturday night in Lakeland, FL, Marty Scurll issued a challenge to Nick Aldis for his NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

The angle that ran on Saturday began with Aldis asking Scurll to be his partner at the ROH/NWA joint presentation of the revived Crockett Cup, in Concord, NC, only for Scurll to turn the challenge around, demanding an NWA World title shot. In turn, Aldis accepted.

The match is scheduled to take place at The Crockett Cup on Saturday, April 27.

Across two reigns as NWA World Heavyweight Champion beginning in December 2017, Aldis has defended the belt against opponents of varying renown. Since regaining the gold from Cody Rhodes at the NWA 70th Anniversary show in a two-out-of-three falls match in October, Aldis has defended the belt against the likes of Billy Gunn, Jack Swagger, Jimmy Havoc, James Storm, Brian Cage, PJ Black, among others.

Elsewhere at the Crockett Cup, Scurll's Villain Enterprises allies, PCO and Brody King, will compete in the titular tournament.
