During an episode of Total Divas last year, SmackDown Superstar Sonya Deville revealed that both she and Mandy Rose had met with WWE officials to pitch the “the first-ever LGBTQ storyline in the WWE.”
It looked like the pair were starting to get the storyline off the ground during a couple of blue brand episodes last summer. However, those fleeting moments ended up going nowhere.
Back on the December 30 episode of Raw, WWE did a fresh LGBTQ storyline involving Liv Morgan and Lana.
In response to what happened on the show, Sonya tweeted: “Welp… my mind is blown.”

Mandy then tweeted: “No words … 😑”

Sonya recently spoke to Bleacher Report and had her say on the angle, stating that just because that happened on Raw it doesn’t mean the proposed storyline between her and Mandy can’t happen in the future: “I mean, at the end of the day, we work for a sports-entertainment company, and the segment was very entertaining. That’s not to say Mandy and I don’t get our storyline in the future. You know, there’s room for plenty of LGBTQ storylines.”
