WWE Royal Rumble 2020 To Take Place In Another Baseball Stadium

The unique aesthetic of Chase Field in Phoenix gave the 2019 Royal Rumble a special feel, reminding many fans of WrestleMania 19 in Seattle (which also took place in a baseball venue, that being Safeco Field). Seems WWE liked the set-up as well, because next year's Royal Rumble will also emanate from the home of a Major League team.

The Houston Chronicle has reported that the 2020 Royal Rumble will take place at Minute Maid Park, home of the 2017 World Champion Houston Astros. The venue holds over 41,000 fans for baseball purposes, with WWE able to seat thousands more at field level.

Sunday's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view takes place in Houston's Toyota Center. Fans in attendance, "will receive a pre-sale offer to buy tickets to Royal Rumble before the general public."

It will mark the second time that a Royal Rumble has occurred in Houston, following the 1989 event, which was at The Summit. This will not be the first time Houston has hosted a WWE stadium event, as WrestleManias 17 and 25 (at The Astrodome and Reliant Stadium, respectively) have happened in "Space City".
