AAA Announces Multi-Man Match For Vacant AAA Mega Championship

Kenny Omega vacated the Title earlier this week

AAA have announced a Multi-Man Match to determine the number AAA Mega Champion, after Kenny Omega was forced to vacate the Title due to injury.

The promotion confirmed earlier this week that, as a result of medical issues, Omega would be stripped of the AAA Championship. The Belt Collector had been scheduled to defend the Title against El Hijo Del Vikingo at Triplemania Regia in December.

With Omega out of action, and the belt vacant, AAA have now confirmed plans to hold a multi-man bout for the Championship

The match will take place at Triplemania Regia on Saturday 4 December. El Hijo Del Vikingo will be in the match, having been the number one contender at the time.

AAA have also announced the first new participant in the bout with Samuray Del Sol, the former Kalisto in WWE, set for he match.

Reacting on social media, Del Sol said: "People that know me, they know me; however, for those who don’t, I can say that I had the honor to hold the name of a legend in the name of Octagon Jr, you may know me as Kalisto from WWE. You may know me for the name I started my career and sacrificed my life, my family, my friends, everything to be where I am at today.

"Why do I say Lucha? I lived the Lucha, Lucha is my life. I have triumphed all over the world with those 3 names. GQ Mexico, Cruiserwright Champion, 2-time US Champion, 1st ever Mexican to win the NXT Tag Team Championships, and yet that wasn’t enough. And you know what? I say the same thing, because I know I can be World Champion, and what better place to start my heritage, my road, and legacy than in TripleMania Regia.

"Samuray del Sol comes to Mexico!”
