Adam Cole's Ankle Injury Worse Than First Believed

Adam Cole will need two ankle surgeries

Adam Cole looks set to be out of action for a significant amount of time.

The ROH World Tag Team Champion sustained a broken ankle during what appeared to be a routine jump to the floor at Dynamite Grand Slam on September 20, with some even questioning whether or not the injury was simply a work due to Jay White being attacked by 'The Devil' on the September 27 edition of Dynamite.

Reports have indicated that Cole will require surgery and the man himself has since confirmed he will actually need to have two surgeries on his broken ankle that will lead to a total of eight screws and a plate being put in his ankle.

"My ankle is broken. When it's all said and done, When I'm eventually able to get everything all fixed, I'm going to need to get two surgeries, and it will be a total of eight screws and a plate in my ankle. So, not ideal. It's incredibly painful. It's the most painful injury I've ever had. Speaking to doctors, [it was] just an absolute freak type of thing. No idea how it happened, I'm doing my best to stay as positive as I can. Obviously, this is soul-crushing. it's really, really a bummer. If anything, it's more painful mentally and physically, it really really hurts as well," Cole said on a Twitch stream.

There is no word on when Cole will make his in-ring return. He has remained present on AEW TV, appearing in a vignette with Roderick Strong and The Kingdom on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite.
