Following his comeback at the AEW Worlds End 2024 PPV, Adam Copeland’s ring name transitioned into just ‘Cope’, a decision that has received a fair share of flack over the last few weeks. The reason for this was revealed to be due to it being easier to market, for instance “Mox vs. Cope” sounding cooler than “Mox vs. Adam Copeland”. It also follows the one syllable formula of his WWE name, Edge. Regardless of the reasoning, fans have struggled to get on board as of yet using the name of Cope.

Speaking to Stephen Brunt on Up Close, Cope remarked that the name is sexier, and he aims to make it work.

“I go to AEW, and now I'm Copeland, or Cope. I'm trying to get the Cope thing (over) because it just looks sexier on a marquee.”

Ever since his return, he has been teaming up with FTR to take on The Death Riders faction, though he did note in a recent interview that he is very much open to one last tag team run with former partner Christian Cage.
