AEW Feared Darby Allin Had Rebroken His Nose At Double Or Nothing

AEW were concerned about Darby Allin’s nose following Double or Nothing

Darby Allin made a surprise return to All Elite Wrestling prior to Double or Nothing, with Allin replacing Eddie Kingston in the Anarchy in the Arena match at the event.

Allin was off TV recuperating from a broken foot when he also broke his nose following a collision with a bus, and at Double or Nothing performed in a protective face mask. However, it seems as though there were concerns that the mask didn’t fully protect Allin as AEW officials were concerned he may have re-injured his nose during the hellacious bout.

The closing stages of the match saw Allin have his mask ripped off before he was hoisted into the air by his ankles and hit by a thumbtack-assisted Superkick Party by The Young Bucks, with Allin noticeably holding his nose in the aftermath of the move. The pressure of being upside down for a prolonged period of time would not have helped matters either.

A report from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio states that whilst Allin did legitimately ‘mess up his nose’ during the bout, a subsequent MRI did not show signs of a break, with Allin given a ‘clean bill of health’ as a result.

Allin himself shared a selfie on social media the morning after the event, showing the effects of the match on his face.
