AEW Honours Jay Briscoe On Dynamite

Tributes paid to Jay Briscoe on AEW Dynamite

On what would have been his 39th birthday, All Elite Wrestling honoured Jay Briscoe on the January 25 edition of Dynamite.

The promotion held a very short tribute for Briscoe last week but Dynamite on Wednesday was main evented by Mark Briscoe vs. Jay Lethal in a match to celebrate the life of Jay Briscoe. After an emotional bout, Mark Briscoe picked up the win with his brother's finisher, hitting the Jay Driller on Lethal following two Lariats. Lethal had avoided the move for much of the match before Mark finally put the former ROH World Champion away.

Following the match, the AEW locker room emptied onto the stage and applauded the competitors. Mark looked into the camera and told Jay that he loved him before he headed up the ramp and hugged several people, with Dynamite then going off the air as Mark held both ROH World Tag Team Title belts aloft.

Earlier in the show, AEW aired a tribute video featuring moments from Jay Briscoe's career and time he spent with his family.

Jay Briscoe sadly passed away on January 17 following a head-on car accident. His two daughters, who were in the car with him at the time of the accident, continue to recover in hospital.

A Ring of Honor tribute show for Briscoe will be uploaded to HonorClub and the promotion's YouTube channel.
