Tony Khan Willing To Work With Anybody To Put Together A Pro Wrestling World Cup

Could AEW promote a pro wrestling world cup?

Tony Khan is open to a pro wrestling world cup and he is willing to work with anybody to make it a reality.

There have been inter-promotional tournaments littered throughout pro-wrestling history, but no promotions have come together to hold a world cup. That is something Kazuchika Okada wants to change and the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion recently said he is willing to visit Tony Khan and Triple H to make a tournament happen.

Appearing on the Battleground podcast, Khan gave his thoughts on a pro wrestling world cup:

"I've got experience working with different promotions and promoting angles, matches, and storylines across different companies. It can be challenging, but we came together with New Japan Pro-Wrestling to put on, I think, the best pay-per-view of the year last year, Forbidden Door. There are challenges to putting on an event like that, and getting the matches set, but it's certainly something I would be open to. I'm open to working with anybody in pro wrestling. You never know."

If WWE would be interested in putting together a pro wrestling world cup is unknown. AEW have close relationships with the likes of NJPW, IMPACT Wrestling, and DDT Pro, and they have communicated with Pro Wrestling NOAH, so a world cup without WWE appears to be a possibility.
