AEW Talent Claims CM Punk Is No Longer With The Promotion

CM Punk looks to be out of AEW

CM Punk is gone from All Elite Wrestling, if Stokely Hathaway is to be believed.

The leader of The Firm was the latest guest on Renee Paquette's The Sessions and Hathaway revealed the original plans for the faction post-All Out were scrapped because of the backstage brawl between CM Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks after the September 4 pay-per-view. He then mentioned that the wrestler they were scheduled to feud with is no longer with AEW.

"Everything that was supposed to happen with The Firm did not happen. Back at All out, what happened immediately after the pay-per-view, that was a huge part of it. [The person] we were supposed to directly feud with is no longer in the company," Hathaway said.

The Firm were revealed as MJF's faction on retainer at All Out, helping The Devil win the Casino Ladder Match and earn a shot at the AEW World Championship. MJF and then-AEW World Champion CM Punk came face-to-face to end All Out and original plans would have seen them clash for the title at Full Gear, a match which MJF would have won.

Punk, Ace Steel, and The Elite were suspended following the backstage fight at All Out and the in-ring talents were stripped of their titles. The Elite have since returned to AEW, mocking CM Punk on the latest episode of Dynamite, while The Second City Saviour was in talks with AEW over a contract buyout as of last word.

Jon Moxley was crowned AEW World Champion after Punk was stripped of the gold and he dropped the title to MJF in the main event of Full Gear.
