AEW Talent Quits Faction On ROH TV

ROH TV saw an AEW roster member exit their faction

All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor are places where being in a faction can be beneficial to your career. However, one wrestler has had enough, sensationally exiting their stable on the August 10 edition of ROH TV.

As seen on TV, Josh Woods informed manager Mark Sterling of his intentions to quit The Varsity Athletes as he is sick of group training, and wants to get serious again as a singles competitor. Sterling agreed to take Woods out of the group but managed to retain him as a client, with ‘Smart’ Mark promising Woods that he’ll serve him up with some top tier talent.

Sterling then revealed that on the August 17 edition of ROH TV, Woods will go one-on-one with ‘The Last Real Man’ Silas Young, with Woods hoping to get back to winning ways.

Woods has shown his dissatisfaction with his position in The Varsity Athletes over the last few weeks, with Woods looking frustrated after losing to ROH PURE Champion Katsuyori Shibata, Woods’ frustrations boiling over during an interview with Lexy Nair on the August 3 broadcast.

A former ROH PURE Champion, Woods has been with ROH since 2016, and won the Top Prospect Tournament in 2017.
