AJ Styles To Face Naomichi Marufuji At NOAH Destination 2024

AJ Styles is heading back to Japan

The last couple of months have seen WWE taking some big steps into working with outside promotions, with a partnership forming with TNA that has seen crossover into both companies, a relationship with new promotion Marigold (where Iyo Sky will compete), and reports have suggested something in the works with Pro Wrestling NOAH. It had been teased that an announcement was to be made regarding WWE & NOAH, and at a NOAH event last night, something big was in fact announced.

WWE wrestler AJ Styles appeared via video package, revealing that he was going to go one-on-one with Naomichi Marufuji at the upcoming NOAH Destination event in Budokan.

This won’t be the first time that a WWE wrestler has wrestled in NOAH under the Triple H era, as Shinsuke Nakamura wrestled The Great Muta during the latter’s retirement tour in 2023. Recently, the CyberFight president (parent company of NOAH) noted his intention to have a good relationship with WWE, and this looks to be one of the first steps towards that.

Styles vs. Marufuji will take place on Saturday, July 13.
