Another NJPW Contract Nearing Expiration
NJPW star’s contract nearing expiration
Dec 31, 2024
January is the busiest time of the year for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, with the upcoming Tokyo Dome shows Wrestle Kingdom 19 and Wrestle Dynasty on the 4th and 5th, and the expiration of several major talent contracts.
One name whose contract is set to expire soon is that of TJP, with the United Empire leader’s deal set to expire ‘soon’ per a report from Fightful Select.
This should be no major cause for concern, as many NJPW talent deals usually expire between January and March, with rising NJPW star Kevin Knight also approaching the end of his deal. Like with Knight, NJPW hope to keep hold of TJP, and the two sides have already begun negotiations.
TJP is set to compete at Wrestle Kingdom on January 4, teaming with Catch 2/2 partner Francisco Akira against IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Intergalactic Jet Setters (Kevin Knight & KUSHIDA), Ichiban Sweet Boys (Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita), and Bullet Club War Dogs Clark Connors and Drilla Moloney in a four-way ‘Tokyo Terror’ ladder match.
In NJPW, TJP is a three-time former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion
